Bureau of Independent Surveyors Ltd. is a surveying company established in the world's biggest port beyond the Polar Circle – Murmansk, Russia. The company was founded in 2003 by a group of professionals who earned their skills during years of work providing marine services in Russian ports and abroad. Conducting marine and cargo surveys since the first years of the formation of the Russian surveyors' institution and working with a variety of bulk, general and liquid cargoes, we have accumulated vast knowledge and experience in the fields of survey, risk analysis, loss prevention and damage control. We can provide the following scope of services: liability (carrier's, forwarder's and stevedores' liability); cargo (pre-shipment surveys, loading and unloading surveys, draft surveys, sampling and analysis, tally, stowage, lashing and securing surveys, container inspections, sealing/unsealing of cargo compartments, cargo damage surveys and quality control, warehouse inspections); marine (on- and off-hire surveys, full and pre-loading condition surveys, bunker surveys, bunker sampling and analysis, hatch cover surveys); hull & machinery (condition surveys, casualties); and P&I services and loss prevention (risk analysis and investigation, casualties, assistance to the Master). Our company is independent, so we can provide an unprejudiced opinion and impartial report. We mainly cover the ports of Murmansk, Kandalaksha, Archangelsk and St. Petersburg in Russia and Kirkenes in Norway.
