Colombo Dockyard is the island's leading ship repair, shipbuilding and heavy engineering facility, conveniently located inside the Port of Colombo. The shipyard operates 4 graving dry docks with a maximum capacity of 125,000 dwt and extensive repair berth facilities. Established in 1974, this state-of-the-art engineering entity has been servicing a wide spectrum of international clients in the ship repair, shipbuilding, heavy engineering and offshore engineering sectors. Since 1993 the shipyard has been operating in collaboration with Onomichi Dockyard, Japan. In the ship repair sector the shipyard handles on average over 160 vessels annually. The shipyard has proven its capability as a world-class shipbuilder with the delivery of AHTs, MPSVs, crew boats and passenger vessels. It is certified to quality, occupational health & safety and environmental management systems.
