Gemar Shipping Co. was founded in 1993 by Capt. Selçuk Turan and Capt. Mümtaz Ünel. The company head office is located at Gemlik port, and the İzmit branch office was established in June 2009. Our location is one of the major shipping centers at Gemlik port, and we control an extensive network of agents in other major Turkish ports. Our business scope: declaration procedures for vessels in/out of ports and relevant waters, arranging pilotage, towage and berthing; cargo import/export declaration procedures, arranging stevedoring, tally, assessment, measurement, fumigation, monitoring of loading/discharging, and cargo and hold inspection; customs clearance procedures for cargo, cargo delivery, warehousing, transshipment and insurance; inland transportation; customs clearance and delivery of ship spares, parcels, goods etc.; issuing B/Ls on behalf of the owner, carrier or master, as agent; purchasing ship machinery, materials, sea charts etc. as agent; crew embarking and disembarking services; transportation and visa services for crew; cash delivery to masters; medical attendance for seamen; and arranging independent surveyors for on/off hire condition and bunker surveys.
