The origins and development of Gisan Shipyard are closely related to the early growth of the Turkish shipbuilding industry. In 1960, Mehmet Oyar (Çanak) founded a small workshop on the shore of the Golden Horn, where small ship repairs were handled by himself and his employees. Gisan Shipyard facilities are capable of building commercial cargo ships, dry bulk carriers, and chemical and product tankers up to 26,000 DWT, as well as dredgers, tug boats and ro-ro passenger vessels. The Gisan Shipyard floating dock is capable of repairing any type of vessel up to 8,000 tons lightship capacity. Our shipyard is located in Tuzla. The shipyard has 22,000 m2 of covered areas, and its steel processing capacity is 15,000 tons per year.
