John Butler Design, a Sydney naval architect, provides a full range of marine consultancy services. With a strong local knowledge of the Australian maritime industry, John Butler Design is ideally positioned to provide quality, cost-effective and innovative marine consultancy services to the commercial marine industry and the Australian Defence industry through the DMO. We work closely with vessel owners and operators, ship managers, shipyards and ship repairers, and have experience working with government departments and agencies. Based on tried and tested techniques, our broad-ranging services extend from marine transport feasibility studies through to final ship design packages, construction supervision, production engineering support and liaison with classification societies. Our naval architecture and mechanical design consultancy services include condition assessments, structural analysis (FEA), detail 3D/2D design, seakeeping and stability analysis, shock analysis, along with preparation of specifications and technical documentation. Located northwest of Sydney, we are 45 minutes from Captain Cook Dock at Garden Island NSW and only 2 hours from Newcastle.
