With more than 27 years of experience, Major Shipping's range of services has grown to include ship chartering and brokering, pre-carriage and supervision of port handling operations, the organisation of international sea container and road transport, and product and market research for supplying commodities as a commodity broker or trader. In its first years, more than 20,000 tons of palletised cargo and 60,000 tons of dry bulk cargo exported from Mersin port were carried by ships under Major Shipping's organisation. More than 10,000 tons of mining minerals and 20,000 tons of agricultural dry bulk cargo were brought to Mersin port by Major Shipping, which organised and controlled every step of the transfers. Major Shipping has guided clients without experience in international trade in exporting their products, acting as their external export department: determining target markets, carrying out sales and marketing activities in those markets and organising all logistics aspects on their behalf. Major Shipping has also supported some clients in developing their product range according to the requirements of target markets, providing consultancy on brand registration and advertorial functions. As an experienced ship chartering operator, chartering is the most competitive of all our services: we study ships to find the optimum carrier for each cargo and select a suitable ship to hire based on the relevant parameters. The types of cargo we carry under our chartering activities include bulk agricultural cargoes, bulk mines and minerals, heavy project cargoes, construction materials and general cargoes (bagged, palletised, etc.).
