Marman Engineering & Shipbuilding Pvt. Ltd: in 1998 the group ventured into shipbuilding, anticipating the need for growing coastal trade, by setting up a midsize shipyard in Goa, on the west coast of India, for building inland and coastal vessels of up to 3,500 DWT capacity. The yard spreads over an area of 8,000 sq. m with 230 meters of waterfront available for new building with a side launching facility. The yard has so far delivered various types of self-propelled vessels, including landing craft, ore carriers, crane mounted barges and a bunker vessel. The yard is also involved in the construction of new-building blocks for naval defense craft.
