Orca Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the whales of the Pacific Northwest, and the importance of providing them healthy and safe habitats. Orca Network finds ways for people to work together to protect the rich, beautiful, diverse habitats and inhabitants of the Salish Sea. Projects include the Whale Sighting Network, Central Puget Sound Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Education Programs and materials, Retire Lolita campaign, and the new Langley Whale Center. Orca Network provides the public with an opportunity to learn about orcas and other whales, and by collecting citizen whale sightings, gathers important data for researchers and agencies, and in turn shares information from researchers with the public. Through email reports, community education and a dynamic website and social media, citizens are given constant reminders of the impacts we have on Pacific Northwest waters, and offered solutions and opportunities to reduce them. Our Whale Sighting Network encompasses Puget Sound, the Salish Sea, and the entire Pacific Coast.
