Terme Shipyard, built on 85,000 m² with 9,000 m² of covered area, is the first and only shipyard in Samsun province, with a strong team and machinery park capable of processing 14,000 tons of steel plate per year. It has three slipways (22 m x 130 m, 26 m x 150 m and 16 m x 110 m) and a 250 m outfitting quay. Equipment includes one 2.5 m x 20 m and one 6.5 m x 24.5 m CNC cutting machine, two 50-ton, two 15-ton, three 10-ton and two 5-ton overhead cranes, two 50-ton, one 10-ton and four 15-ton portal cranes, one 20-ton mobile crane, two forklifts, a truck, a 150-ton block transporter and a sufficient number of gas-shielded and submerged arc welding machines and welding robots. Construction of a 180-ton gantry crane is ongoing, and construction of a planned 40 m x 200 m dry dock is to start by the end of the year. A contract has been signed with the Greek company Naftotrade Shipping and Commercial S.A. for 5 dry cargo ships of 8,500 dwt, and the first ship is 50% complete.
